Sheep wool as plant food!
Share
Sheep wool is not the first thing you think of when you see our Kokedamas. But it is an important part of the production process. The wool ensures that our plants feel comfortable in the Kokedama!
Sheep wool is a 100% natural product that is full of valuable substances such as organic nitrogen and other minerals that feed the plant. By pressing the raw (residual) wool into granules or pellets, a unique 100% natural fertilizer is created; and look... we love that of course!
We also add a small handful of sheep wool granules to some of our Kokedama's so that the plants can absorb the slowly released organic nutrients. And so you are guaranteed a radiant plant that is provided with enough nutrients.
But that's not all we do with sheep's wool! In addition to giving your plants a boost, sheep's wool also has a water buffering effect. By first wrapping the root ball with sheep's wool and then with coconut, we prevent the Kokedama from drying out quickly and you don't have to water it daily!
In short, we keep sheep wool! And hope that this circular plant food, without added chemicals, can also find a place in your home (and garden!).
